# LLM-ready docs

Read Meet Alto guides from your AI assistant using Markdown, documentation indexes, or the docs MCP.

Bring the relevant Meet Alto guide into your AI tool before asking it to explain a feature or help with an integration. These formats contain documentation; they do not provide access to your workspace or customer conversations.

## Choose a format

| What you need                                      | Use                                                               |
| -------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| The instructions for one task                      | A page's Markdown version                                         |
| Find which guides are available | [Documentation index](https://docs.meetalto.ai/llms.txt) |
| Read a broad collection of guides together | [Full documentation text](https://docs.meetalto.ai/llms-full.txt) |
| Let an assistant find and retrieve relevant guides | The docs MCP connection below |

Published indexes and the docs MCP use the published documentation. They do not include changes that are still in a review preview. If an index is empty or unavailable, use the browser guide and retry after the published docs are available.

## Read a page as Markdown

Open a guide, then use its page actions menu to copy or view Markdown. You can also append `.md` to the page's URL. Use the actual page URL, including any parent path; a repository filename may have a different published address.

Give your assistant the page URL and a specific task. If the assistant cannot retrieve URLs, paste the relevant Markdown into its context instead.

## Discover guides with llms.txt

Start at [docs.meetalto.ai/llms.txt](https://docs.meetalto.ai/llms.txt). Have your assistant find the pages relevant to your task, then read those pages before answering. This keeps the context focused and makes the supporting sources easy to check.

```
Read https://docs.meetalto.ai/llms.txt and find the guides about
knowledge sources and agent testing. Read the relevant pages,
then give me a setup checklist with links to the sources.
If the index has no pages, tell me instead of guessing.
```

## Use llms-full.txt for broader context

[docs.meetalto.ai/llms-full.txt](https://docs.meetalto.ai/llms-full.txt) combines published documentation into one text resource. Use it when your task spans several topics and your tool can handle the size. For a focused question, the index and a few individual pages are usually easier to work with.

Refreshing the source matters: a downloaded copy does not update when the docs change.

## Connect the docs MCP

Add a remote MCP server in an assistant or editor that supports HTTP transport. Give it a recognizable name, such as `meet-alto-docs`, and use this URL:

```
https://docs.meetalto.ai/~gitbook/mcp
```

These public docs do not need a Meet Alto workspace API key. Opening the MCP URL as an ordinary browser page may show an error; add it as an MCP server in your tool.

After connecting, check that the tool list loads, then ask it to find and read a guide:

```
Using meet-alto-docs, find the guide about testing an AI agent.
Read it and explain what I should check before going live.
Link the source and call out anything the docs do not establish.
```

A successful connection alone does not prove the content is available. Confirm that your assistant retrieves a real guide and links it in the answer. This connection can retrieve documentation and may offer documentation feedback; it cannot change your Meet Alto workspace.

## Docs MCP or Meet Alto MCP?

| Connection    | Address                                 | Purpose                                           |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| Docs MCP      | `https://docs.meetalto.ai/~gitbook/mcp` | Find and read published guides                    |
| Meet Alto MCP | `https://app.meetalto.ai/mcp` | Work with your workspace through authorized tools |

To work with accounts, agents, or contacts, follow the [Meet Alto MCP quickstart](/mcp/quickstart.md). That connection has its own sign-in and [permissions](/mcp/permissions.md). An assistant can use the docs to understand a task before using an authorized operational connection.

## Get more reliable answers

* State the channel, task, and result you want. Ask for prerequisites and a way to check success.
* Request source links and have the assistant distinguish documented behavior from suggestions.
* For API work, use the [API reference](/api.md) for available operations and schemas. Do not ask the assistant to fill missing response fields from memory.
* Refresh the relevant pages when troubleshooting a changed feature.

If a connection fails, check the exact URL, HTTP support, and whether the published docs load. If your tool cannot use MCP, the Markdown and index options provide another way to read the same material.
