# Connect Claude to Meet Alto

Add Meet Alto to Claude, approve workspace access and check that the connection works.

Use Meet Alto from a Claude conversation by adding a custom connector. Read your workspace, check setup progress and use the tools you have approved. Connector availability depends on your Claude account and organization settings.

## Before you start

Sign in to Meet Alto and Claude. Your Claude account must allow custom connectors. If your organization manages connectors, ask its administrator to enable the connection. See [Claude's current connector requirements](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-get-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp).

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open the Meet Alto setup

In Meet Alto, go to **Settings → Integrations → Manage MCP** and select **Claude**. Choose **Add to Claude**.

Review the prefilled name and server URL. The URL should be `https://app.meetalto.ai/mcp`. Leave optional OAuth client ID and secret fields blank.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Connect and approve access

Add the connector and choose **Connect**. Complete Meet Alto sign-in, choose your workspace and review the requested permissions.

The request can include write and publishing access. Check [permissions and approvals](/mcp/permissions.md) before accepting.

If sign-in is declined or fails, stop and resolve that issue before asking Claude to run tools.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Enable Meet Alto in your conversation

Return to Claude and enable Meet Alto from the conversation's connector controls. If it does not appear, refresh the connector list or start a new conversation.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Confirm the connection

Ask Claude:

> Read my Meet Alto workspace name and setup progress. Use read operations only and tell me if any required permission is missing.

Check that Claude reports the intended workspace using a successful tool result. If it reports a different workspace, reconnect and choose the correct one.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## After connecting

[Choose a useful workflow](/mcp/recipes.md). When a task requires more access, review the additional permissions before approving. [Manage or disconnect access](/mcp/permissions.md).

If the Add to Claude link is unavailable, use Claude's custom-connector setup and enter the production server URL above. Follow its current menu instructions in the linked Claude help article.

Using Claude in a terminal? Follow [Connect Claude Code](/mcp/clients/claude-code.md). For a connected app that cannot run a tool, use [MCP troubleshooting](/mcp/troubleshooting.md).
